Planning

The following primary consents will be required to construct and operate the development proposal:

  • Section 36 consent with deemed planning permission (under the Electricity Act 1989 with devolved powers under the Wales Act 2017).
  • Marine Licence under the Marine and Coastal Access Act 2009.
  • An Appropriate Assessment (AA) finding of no adverse effects as part of a Habitats Regulation Appraisal (HRA) on the integrity of a Natura site.

Discussions will be held over the coming months with Natural Resources Wales and other statutory and non-statutory stakeholders. An Environmental Assessment of the project will be conducted to accompany the development consent applications.

A comprehensive suite of environmental studies will be conducted in the coming months. In line with permit requirements, ongoing environmental monitoring will continue through construction and operation at the project to avoid adverse effects to sea and bird life.
