International Women’s Day gives us the opportunity to recognise and celebrate our female colleagues and their achievements.
We are today profiling our EPCI Engineering Manager, Emilia Marciszewska
Emilia is civil and structural engineer with 15 years of experience in the offshore renewable and marine energy sector. During her career she has managed FEED, detail design and all execution phases for fixed bottom offshore wind structures on key large scale commercial projects in the UK. She has ‘hands on’ experience acquired from her work on installation vessels, fabrication yards and O&M offshore inspections.
What does your role involve?
I joined the team in 2021 as EPCI Engineering Manager, responsible for executing floating offshore wind projects at Cierco.
What experience did you have before joining the business?
My experience mainly involved working on large-scale commercial projects for bottom-fixed WTG foundations, managing detail design stages, and overseeing fabrication and offshore construction on an installation vessel.
What does a typical day involve?
Right now, I am involved in the planning phase for a floating windfarm. My day-to-day activities comprise writing and reviewing technical reports, planning engineering surveys, and liaising with a team of consultants and contractors to carry out multiple contracts during the execution phase.
What advice do you have for others wanting to enter the industry?
Not to be afraid to think ‘outside the box’ and be open-minded in your career development.
